The Gap Between Who I Was and Who I Am Guided Meditation
May this meditation help you to explore the experience of inner tension as it relates to embodying new values
Change takes time; we all know that. We are at some point going to find ourselves in what Brene Brown calls "the messy middle." It's uncomfortable; there's tension....and, if you want to grow, it's inevitable. I think it helps to know that's it's normal, and it helps to have strategies for when you're in the messy middle. As an Enneagram 1, I want to get things right the first time (and every time, dammit!). Alas, this is not how life works. I created this practice to help you visualize a time when you didn't nail it, and work through the emotions and bodily sensations that accompanied that failure. Then we'll practice envisioning a time when we successfully embody the change we're hoping for.
